Veo electric bikes are back on the streets of Syracuse just in time for the warmer weather. Last year, the program saw significant success, with over 500,000 rides covering approximately 750,000 miles. Mayor Ben Walsh emphasized the importance of these bikes as a vital transportation option for many residents, especially those without cars, for commuting to work or shopping.
This year, Veo has introduced a new feature to enhance the biking experience. The Virtual Parking Coach, an AI-powered parking assistant, will help riders park their bikes properly. The app checks the end-of-ride photo for compliance with local regulations before allowing users to complete their trip. This innovation aims to support more organized and efficient micromobility parking throughout the community.
The return of Veo bikes, which began on Monday (March 10), is expected to continue promoting sustainable transportation and improving accessibility for Syracuse residents. Mayor Walsh expressed gratitude to Veo and the Common Council for their collaboration in enhancing this service for the city's neighborhoods.
