A man in Utica is facing charges of driving while intoxicated (DWI) after crashing his SUV into a T-Mobile store on Mohawk Street. The incident occurred early Monday morning (December 23), according to the Utica Police Department. The driver, identified as Arturo William, showed clear signs of impairment when officers arrived at the scene. He refused to take a field sobriety test and was subsequently charged with two counts of DWI, along with other traffic violations.
The crash caused significant damage to the store, shattering the entire front window. Fortunately, no injuries were reported. The vehicle was found still running when officers arrived. There is currently no information on when the store will reopen, as repairs are needed.
