Syracuse Man Sentenced To 70 Years For Fatal Shooting On Memorial Day

Syracuse, N.Y. - A Syracuse man will spend 70 years in Prison after he killed a man in a drive by shooting on Memorial Day last year.

32 year old Jauquell Flagg was the only one charged in the shooting that injured 3 and killed Demond Jones.

Jones was at Memorial Day cookout with family and friends on Bellevue Ave when Flagg and 3 others drove by in a car and opened fire killing Jones.

Flagg was found guilty of murder and three counts of attempted murder. He was sentenced to 25 years to life for the murder and 15 years for each count of attempted murder. All will run consecutively.

At his sentencing Flagg continued to maintain he's innocent.
