A group of local investors, known as 9 Fresh, has announced plans to purchase the Cazenovia College campus and transform it into a dynamic innovation and community district. The campus, which closed in 2023 due to financial difficulties, is set to embark on a new journey under the stewardship of 9 Fresh, a team with expertise in real estate, venture capital, law, economic development, and business.

The group's vision for the campus goes beyond traditional property redevelopment. They plan to create a space that combines business and innovation, living and leisure, and community engagement to support regional economic growth and job creation. The development plans include office space for technology companies, retail, dining, and housing.

Kate Brodock, one of the lead investors, said, “We want to honor the legacy of the campus, while creating something new, something that allows our entire community to grow and benefit. We see a strong future collaboration with the Village and Town, which is already in action as we work together on this project.” according to LocalSYR.com.

The group has not disclosed the purchase price of the campus, citing the deal's unfinalized nature. However, a closing is expected by the end of the year. The New York State Police will continue to utilize the campus as a training facility until next summer.
