Syracuse Cop And An EMT Being Investigated For Interfering In DWI Arrest

Syracuse, N.Y. - Syracuse Police have placed an Officer on administrative leave as they investigate whether he may have interfered in a DWI arrest of his sister.

Around 3am New Years Day an Onondaga Sheriff Deputy was investigating a car crash. The deputy suspected the woman driver, identified as Tatianna Sustache was drunk, the deputy began sobriety tests.

Her brother, Milton Sustahce Jr, arrived in a Patrol car, wearing his Syracuse Police uniform. The woman requested an ambulance and her brother may have ridden in the ambulance to the hospital. It's alleged she was injected with saline, in the ambulance, in an attempt to dilute her blood.

Sustache who joined the force in 2021, is on paid leave.

The Sheriffs office, Syracuse Police and the County's DA's office are investigating both the brother's and the AMR ambulance employee's actions.
