Teen Displays Gun On ESM School Bus Threatens Staff And Others

Manlius, N.Y. - Manlius Police have arrested an 18-year-old for bringing a handgun on a bus.

Police say Elijah Cruz Ogando, was on an East Syracuse Minoa school bus when we began to display a gun. The teen showed the gun to another student on the bus and threatened to use it against staff and others.

Police searched Ogando's home and found the .22 handgun along with ammunition.

He was arrested and charged with multiple misdemeanor and felony charges including Criminal Possession of Weapon 2nd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon on School Grounds, Endangering the Welfare of a Child and other charges.

Police say Ogando acted alone, and there are no known threats to students or staff at this time.
