Lockheed Martin Wins Big Air Force Contract, More Jobs, Work For Decades

Salina, N.Y. - Lockheed Martin has just received a 75 million dollar contract from the Air Force to produce long range radars.

That decision will mean decades of work at Lockheed’s plant in Salina, and it will create or keep hundreds of jobs.

The mobile, ground-based radars can detect, identify and track aircraft, missiles and other incoming aerial threats.

The digital radars can also detect stealthy cruise missiles, and provide long-range early warning for tactical ballistic missiles.
