Syracuse Police Find Heroin, Cocaine And Illegal Gun During Traffic Stop

Syracuse, N.Y. - Syracuse Police have arrested three people after traffic stop.

A little after 1 this morning police stopped a vehicle in the 700 block of West Onondaga Street. Officers observed a gun in plain view. The occupants tried to start the car and flee but officers stopped them and removed them from the car. A search found cocaine, heroin and a sawed off Rifle in the vehicle. 31 year old Mele Moore, 51 Norberto Rodriguez, and 27 Shaquan Lockwood all face several charges each.

In the end, all three occupants were charged with:

  • Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree
  • Criminal Possession of a Firearm
  • Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree.
  • Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Fourth Degree.
  • Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree.

In addition to these charges, Moore was arrested for resisting arrest. 

The driver was also ticketed for several vehicle and traffic infractions that led to the stop.
