Auburn Police Officer Arrested For Inappropriate Contact With A Student

Auburn, N.Y. - An Auburn High School resource officer has been arrested for inappropriate contact with a student.

32 year old Auburn Police Officer William Morrissey, III has been charged with first-degree sexual abuse, official misconduct and endangering the welfare of a child.

Authorities received an anonymous complaint about Morrisey, and an investigation quickly confirmed that Morrissey was having a relationship with a student.

Morrissey is suspended without pay pending the outcome of the internal and sheriff's office investigation.
