Boeheim Wants SU To Drop Masks In The Carrier Dome

Syracuse, N.Y. - Coach is weighing in on mask mandates at Syracuse Univerisity.

"I'd like to see it, I hope so, I think it's about time," says Men's Basketball Head Coach Jim Boeheim about fans being allowed to skip the mask when they come to the Carrier Dome to cheer on 'Cuse when they host the nationally-ranked Duke Blue Devils on Saturday.

"Hopefully we can be like the rest of the country and come in here without masks on Saturday, we just can't do that," said Boeheim with his iconic sarcastic grin. "All the students here wear masks to class and then go downtown to party and they have no masks. 400 people in a party. It's crazy."

Syracuse University updated its mask policies last week allowing more students more opportunities to live life without masks. However, visitors still are required to mask on campus including inside of the Carrier Dome.

University and Dome officials have not indicated the policies on masking ahead of Saturday's rivalry match will change.
