Syracuse, N.Y. - The Syracuse City School District says its graduation rate is still trending higher.
Even with remote learning for much of last year, the four-year graduation rate last August was 77.2 percent. That's 6.5 points better than the year before and the highest rate in decades.
The statewide graduation rate last year rose more than a point to 86.1 percent. Skeptics are pointing out that it is possible the pandemic cancellations of most Regents exams made it easier for some students to graduate.
