Town of West Monroe, N.Y. - State Police have arrested a West Monroe man after he set a house ablaze.
Troopers say they responded to an Apartment on County Route 84 in West Monroe for a harassment complaint between 38 year old Christopher Ariola and a family member.
When they arrived at the home they noticed heavy smoke coming from the building.
5 people made it out of the home safely.
Investigators say Ariola started a fire in his own bedroom.
He faces Arson 2nd degree (B-felony), Reckless Endangerment 1st degree (D-felony), Criminal Mischief 2nd degree (D-felony), and Resisting Arrest (A-misdemeanor) charges.
