Mask Mandate For Businesses In New York To Be Lifted Tomorrow

Albany,. N.Y. - Governor Kathy Hochul today announcing some good news and some bad.

The good news mask mandates for businesses will be lifted starting tomorrow.

She also said local governments, organizations and businesses can still choose to require masks.

The bad news, mask mandates will remain in schools as well as state healthcare facilities, shelters, bus and train stations.

Hochul said they will wait until after Winter Break in mid February to reevaluate the school mandate.

She said they’re distributing test kits so parents can test kids before they go back to school, then the state will look at the Metrics.

Hochul said Covid cases are down 93%, and she said hospitalizations have dropped 63% since January 12th when we had 12,000 people in hospitals.

"I want people to know this pandemic is not over," Hochul said, adding she wants people to feel safe.
