Tenney Announces She Will Run In The 23rd District Not The 22nd

Chenango County, N.Y. - U.S. Representative Claudia Tenney announced today that she will not seek re-election in her the current district she represents which is the 22nd. Instead she said she’ll seek election in a new 23rd district along the Southern Tier.

This all comes after New York Democrats came up with a plan that eliminates most of her existing 22nd Congressional District. The congressional redistricting bill submitted yesterday by Democrats, would carve up much of Tenney’s existing 22nd District and be added to several new districts.

The 23rd Congressional District would include parts of Cortland, Chenango, Broome and Tioga counties and stretch to New York’s western border in Chautauqua and Erie counties.
