Onondaga County Hits Tragic Milestone In Pandemic Deaths

Syracuse, N.Y. - Onondaga County Executive Ryan McMahon sharing some sobering news Monday.

Nine more people died over the weekend, which brings the total number of deaths in the county from the pandemic to 1,007. McMahon said all 9 had underlying health conditions.

McMahon said there were 571 new cases reported with 223 residents in the hospital, 40 in the ICU.

The weekend deaths bring January’s total to 69, making it the deadliest month since January of last year.

McMahon asked the public to "please say a prayer for everyone we have lost in the pandemic and their families."
