Onondaga County BOE Finishes Absentee Counting, Winner In One Race Declared

Syracuse, N.Y. - Onondaga County Board of Elections has now finished their 2021 absentee ballot counting.

They scanned in 6456 ballots. The unofficial totals for both Election night and Absentee are available on onvote.net.

On Monday the BOE plans to proceed with handcounts of close races and they hope to certify everything on November 24th.

Some winners have been declared after the recent counting.

Fayetteville Mayor Mark Olson has been declared the winner in the 10th District race for Onondaga County legislator. Olson, a Republican, defeated Manlius Town Councilor Heather Waters, a Democrat, 51% to 49% of the vote. With that win, Republicans hold on to their 11-6 majority in the legislature.
