CDC Urges People With Fresh Whole Onions To Throw Them Out

Atlanta, GA. - Fresh whole onions imported from Mexico are being linked to a salmonella outbreak in the U.S.

The CDC issued a food safety alert saying more than 650 people have been infected with the strain in 37 states as of October 18th.

It includes red, white and yellow onions that were distributed by ProSource Inc and last imported on August 27th.

The advisory noted the onions can last up to three months in storage.

The CDC insisted if you can't tell where your onions are from, just throw them out.
