Two Arrested In DeWitt Hotel After Gun Accidently Goes Off

Town Dewitt, N.Y. - DeWitt Police responded to a shots fired call around 1am this morning at a hotel on Old Collamer Rd.

They found a bullet hole and bullet in room 214 that had been shot from room 216.

When they searched room 216 they found a handgun, several cell phones and personal papers.

They search other hotels in the area and found the person registered to the room, 24 year old Melody Tallini of Minoa, along with 24 year old Javon Modix of East Syracuse.

Police found ammunition on Modix and he admitted he accidently fired the gun.

Tallini told police about a second handgun that Modix asked her to hide.

The both face a variety of charges.
