Syracuse, N.Y. - After falling off slightly the last couple of weeks, the latest data from the state shows the spread of coronavirus is on the rise again in Central New York.
Right now, the seven-day average COVID-19 infection rate is 5.19, the highest of any region in the Empire State. Just one week ago, the average infection rate in the area was four-point-seven-four percent. Governor Hochul is still urging those who haven't been vaccinated against the virus to do so immediately.
