Upstate University Hospital Closing Operating Rooms

Syracuse, N.Y. - Upstate University Hospital has announced they will consolidate their operating rooms beginning next week.

They said they are doing so in anticipation of staff shortages due to the vaccine mandate which goes into effect Monday.

Hospital officials say they will have 13 operating rooms in service. Normally they have up to 35.

Officials said medically necessary and time-sensitive surgeries as well as critical care trauma cases will be priorities as usual.
