Syracuse Police Officer Speaks Out Against Racism Within Department

A Syracuse Police officer is speaking out for the first time since filing claims over racism in the department:

Officer Brandon Hanks spoke at a press conference in NYC Tuesday, saying that he has faced retaliation from other officers over his decision to report the allegations. Officer Hanks initially filed the claims last month, detailing how he was reportedly refused a promotion because a captain accused him of being involved in gangs and distributing drugs.
