Rome, N.Y. - Oneida County Sheriffs investigating a helicopter crash at the Rome Airport this afternoon.
Deputies say it happened a little before 2.
The helicopter was being piloted by Deekpak Dherny of Rome and as he approached the runway to land, the aircraft lost power dropping 20-30 feet to the ground bouncing back up into the air, then came down again, coming to rest on its side.
Dherny's two passengers were taken to the hospital with nonlife threatening injuries.
