Woman Who Drove Ambulance Into Water Identified

Rochester, N.Y. - A stolen Ambulance lead to a high-speed chase yesterday.

Authorities say 32-year-old Vanessa Armstead of Buffalo stole the ambulance as it was being cleaned.

Officers tried to stop the vehicle, including using stop sticks, but the pursuit only ended when Armstead drove the ambulance into Irondequoit Bay, near Rochester.

Armstead is charged with possession of stolen property, trespassing, and criminal mischief.
