Syracuse Native & Bestselling Children's Author Eric Carle Dead At 91

Syracuse native and bestselling children's author Eric Carle has died at the age of 91.

Carle, best known for "The Very Hungry Caterpillar", passed away Sunday at his summer studio in Massachusetts. He spent the first few years of his life in Syracuse, where a first-grade teacher at the former US Grant School encouraged him to develop his creative interests.
