Syracuse Mayor Ben Walsh Vetoes Funding For Basketball Mural

Syracuse Mayor Ben Walsh has vetoed spending $75K in COVID-19 stimulus money on a basketball mural.

The mayor said he made the decision because he doesn't believe the rules connected to the federal funds allow for money to be used towards creating it. The proposed mural would be displayed on an East Onondaga Street building and feature four area basketball legends. This is only the second time in the mayor's term he's issued a veto.
