Six Major House Fires Reported Within 48 Hours In Syracuse

The city of Syracuse has had six fires break out over the course of 48 hours.

Five people were rescued from the first blaze early Saturday morning on W Onondaga St. Two of those rescued were taken to the hospital.

Hours later, another fire was reported on Lakeview Ave. Most of the damage was contained to the second floor of the home.

The third fire ripped through a vacant house on May Ave early Sunday morning. Crews spent nearly an hour putting out the blaze.

Monday morning, a fire was called in around 1:30 on South Ave. No one was injured, but a firefighter was treated for minor burns.

The last two fires were both reported at separate Glenwood Ave homes around 2:30 on Monday. Both of those homes were vacant, and no one was injured.
