New York, N.Y. - Governor Cuomo was in the Big Apple today.

He said the state's positivity rate stands at 1.4%, the lowest since October 28th. Hospitalizations are down to 2600 the lowest since Nov 21, and Intubations and numbers of people in ICU are down as well. He said 31 people died in the state in the past 24 hours from COVID-19, another low number.

Cuomo announced the state will be distributing the Johnson & Johnson vaccine at the Yankee and Mets games for people willing and they will be giving away free tickets to games, to those who get vaccinated.

He also said starting May 19th, theaters and ballparks can sell tickets to only all-vaccinated people and open at 100% capacity if they would like.

He said the Yankees and Mets will have two areas and two different sets of rules for fans. Vaccinated people can sit next to each other but must wear masks and 100% capacity in that area will be allowed. Unvaccinated people must maintain 6 foot distancing with masks and their area will be limited to 33% capacity.

He also said theaters and ballparks can sell tickets to only all-vaccinated people and open at 100% capacity if they choose to do so.

The new rule applies to venues with 2,500 seats and up and would include places like NBT Bank Stadium and the St.Joseph’s Health Amphitheater at Lakeview.
