Oswego International Pier To Be Revitalized

Oswego, N.Y. - It was announced today that ground is being broken in the city of Oswego on a 9 and a half million dollar revitalization project to improve their historic pier. The improvements are designed to help promote recreational use and tourism.

Mayor Billy Barlow said the converting the underutilized pier into an attractive pedestrian-oriented boardwalk, will serve as a great new attraction.

Chairman of the Oswego County Legislature James Weatherup says the improvements proposed for the pier, provide even more opportunity for people to access and enjoy the beauty of Lake Ontario and enhance the quality of life for our residents.

The construction will build upon the already begun 3.1 million dollar project at Wright's Landing Marina.
