No New Deaths In Onondaga County From COVID-19, Testing At F-Shed Halted

Syracuse, N.Y. - Onondaga County Executive Ryan McMahon providing more good news overall today regarding COVID 19 and vaccines

No new deaths to report from COVID-19. He also said the positivity rate stands at 1.5%, just 55 new cases.

McMahon said that demand has decreased for Covid-19 tests, so the county will no longer be given them at F-Shed at the Regional Market. People are encouraged to go to the Community Hospital or State Fairgrounds, instead.

McMahon said that by the end of the week, about 50% of the total population in the county, will have been vaccinated and 64% of eligible population.

He announced another Moderna clinic to be held on Thursday, April 22nd, at the Oncenter. You can register by clicking on this link.

He also said the county will continue to vaccinate in High Schools. This week, they will be at East Syracuse Minoa Tuesday, Lafayette High School on Wednesday, where they will have three other schools participating, Onondaga Central, Fabius-Pompey, and Tully and Liverpool High School on Friday.
