Onondaga County Executive Ryan McMahon Says COVID Numbers Dropping

Syracuse, N.Y. - Onondaga County Executive Ryan says 8 more people in the county have died in the past 24 hours. He says new cases are 124. This is normally a high case day but that number is down about 100 from last week. He said there are 2,401 active cases which is down, and the positivity rate is 6.3%

He said they are trying to sign people up for vaccines and trying to get more vaccines into the community.

Regarding the online registration process that took place yesterday, McMahon said the website saw over 700,000 hits in an hour and it made the website think it was being hacked.
