Al Stirpe Claims Victory In 127th Assembly Race

Syracuse, N.Y. - Another local race has had a winner announced.

Democratic Assemblyman Al Stirpe has declared victory in the 127th Assembly district.

The district covers the towns of Cicero, Clay, Manlius, Pompey and Tully.

Stirpe who has represented the district since 2006, held on to his seat by defeating Republican Challenger Mark Venesky.

Absentee ballots are still being counted, but Stirpe's lead is significant.
