Cashless Tolling On The Thruway Starts Overnight...Surprise!

Albany, N.Y. - Well its finally here and a little early. Cashless tolling on the New York State Thruway will go live overnight tonight. Gov. Cuomo says the conversion is a month ahead of schedule.

To increase efficiency and limit contact between drivers and poll workers, cash will no longer be accepted for toll payments. Also they will stop printing toll tickets.

Toll plaza workers were told that Sunday will be their last day of work, and their managers will finish work Wednesday.

Drivers are encouraged to have an E-ZPass , if you dont cameras will take a picture of your license plate and the state will send you a bill.
