Onondaga County Executive Ryan McMahon Says 222 New Cases Of COVID 19

Syracuse, N.Y. - Onondaga County executive Ryan McMahon announces two new records today.

222 new coranavirus cases in Onondaga County, 66 are related to higher education. McMahon said 30% of the cases are related to higher education in dorms and campus spread.

He said the number of active COVID-19 cases is 968, another record. The previous high was 941 cases on June 8.

McMahon also announced sopme good news that there were no uptick in senior facilities.

McMahon said " We need the hospitals to be able to function...not just for the COVID cases...we need the capacity there and we can't get to the point where we don't have the capacity."

There were no new deaths to report.
