Renna, Poised For Victory, Files Early Lawsuit in 2020 Election

UPDATE: Republican Angi Renna appears to have won the contests for candidate for New York's 50th State Senate District. However, her campaign team was the first in Central New York to bring a lawsuite to slow down the election process. n likely won the seat that is remebered as the seat that belonged to longtime State Sentaor John DeFrancisco.

Syracuse, N.Y. - Lawsuits are already beginning to fly in the race for the seat once occupied by State Senator John DeFranciso.

Angi Renna, the Republican candidate for the 50th New York State Senate District, has filed legal papers that could lead to a formal request to impound ballots from today’s election.

It is the first introduction of lawyers into the election process this year in Onondaga County, said Onondaga County Elections Commissioner Dustin Czarny.

The campaign filed an order to show cause, requesting an impoundment.
