Remington Outdoor Company Terminates 585 Employees

Ilion, N.Y. - Remington Outdoor Company, the owner of the Remington operation in Ilion, has notified 585 union workers they are terminated effective today.

The United Mine Workers of America, said that Remington Outdoor was ending health care and more effective October 31.

The union’s also says Remington is refusing to pay severance and accrued vacation benefits provided for in the collective bargaining agreement.

Remington Outdoor Company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in July. In September Roundhill Group, was the top bidder for the Remington operation. However some of the products manufactured under the Marlin Line, in Ilion, were acquired by yet another company.
