Cow In Onedia County Tests Positive For Rabies

Utica, N.Y. - A cow in the Town of Trenton in Onedia county has tested positive for rabies.

The cow was sent to the New York State Department of Health Wadsworth Center Laboratory for testing and the results were positive for rabies.

Three people who were exposed to the cow are receiving post-exposure treatment.

Oneida County Health department reminds people that if you see an animal acting strangly, mad, getting unusally close or drooling or foaming at the mouth to stay away and call the local animal control center.
