Thruway May Start Charging More After Switching To Cashless Tolling

Albany, N.Y. - The state Thruway Authority will start holding public hearings today on a proposed toll hike for the highway.

The plan would increase toll rates for drivers who don't have E-ZPass by 30 percent beginning January 1st.

Current E-ZPass customers aren't going to see any changes since the Thruway is switching to cashless tolling in a few weeks.

The hearings will take place online through Thursday and more information is available by visiting thruway.ny.gov.
