Syracuse Mayor Ben Walsh is expected to announce his decision on the fate of the Columbus Statue Friday.
The statue has been a source of controversy following a petition earlier this year from Indigenous groups, claiming the statue represents genocide. Mayor Walsh formed the Columbus Circle Action Group in June to determine the best path forward.
