Onondaga County Receives Higher Sales Tax Payment

Onondaga County receiving some good news for their financial situation.

Onondaga County Executive Ryan McMahon announced they have received $10 million more than expected in sales tax payments. McMahon crediting the return of college students and an increase in home improvement projects within the county for the boost.

He says that because of the higher payment, the county will not need to furlough or lay off any employees this month. The county still faces a $20 million deficit through the end of 2020.
