Gov Cuomo Says The State Will Deal With The Hotspots

Albany, N.Y. - Gov Cuomo giving a briefing today announcing that the states overall infection rate is 1.2%.

Cuomo said though we are dealing with “two different universes." In the hotspot zipcodes the rate is 5.5%. Cuomo says schools in those hot spot neighborhoods in NYC will close tomorrow.

Governor Andrew Cuomo says it comes down to not having enough testing data in order to determine if the schools are safe at present. He's also putting together a task force to enforce social distancing rules and mask wearing in those hotspots.

Cuomo says further restrictions could be coming on religious gatherings, non-essential businesses, and public spaces, although nothing has been finalized there.
