2 Dead, 7 Injured Following Violent Weekend In Syracuse

A violent weekend in Syracuse took the life of two people and injured at least seven others.

Police were called to W Colvin St Friday night around 10:15 after shots were heard in the area. One person was injured and sent to the hospital, where he is expected to recover.

On Saturday evening around 6, police arrived at Washington Square Park and found two people with gunshot wounds. A 24 year old man later died in the hospital from his injuries. The second victim is expected to survive.

Later that night, officers were called to two more shooting calls- one of which left another man with a gunshot wound to the midsection.

Syracuse Police also responded to a stabbing incident right before 1 on the city's Southside. Two victims were taken to the hospital following a large fight. They're both expected to recover.

Overnight, another person died as the result of gun violence. That individual was dropped off at a hospital with a wound to his midsection.

Two other people were injured between 9-11 last night after being shot. One is expected to survive, the other is in critical condition.
