Syracuse Police Make An Arrest In Fatal Hit 'N Run

Syracuse, N.Y. - Syracuse Police have arrested a person in that double hit-and-run fatality

62-year-old Elijah Harris was riding his bicycle around South Salina Street and Brighton Avenue when he was hit by a vehicle. While waiting for an ambulance, he was hit again.

After an investigation police have arrested 32-year-old Jerrell Brown, of Syracuse, and charged him Leaving the scene of a fatal motor vehicle collision, aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle and an additional unlicensed operation of a vehicle charge.

Police also determined that the second collision was unintentional and no charges have been filed against the other driver.

You may not know Harris' name, but you have probably met him in your travels to the Carrier Dome, Marshall Street, and the Civic Center. He spent decades playing his guitar for downtown eventgoers.
