Roman Catholic Diocese Of Syracuse Suspends Masses Until Further Notice

Syracuse, N.Y. - Catholics in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Syracuse won't be allowed to attend mass in-person until further notice.

Bishop Douglas Lucia made the announcement yesterday, saying the move is being done to prevent the spread of germs. Bishop Lucia says he hopes to be able to lift the restrictions for Holy Week and Easter. Parishioners are being asked to donate to their local church to help offset any losses.

A private mass with Bishop Lucia will be streamed online each weekday at noon and there will also be a weekly mass posted on the diocesan YouTube channel.
