CNY Schools Begin Closing Monday Over Coronavirus Pandemic

Syracuse, N.Y. - Over the weekend, practically every county in the region was ordered a State of Emergency. The move will allow county officials to cancel all Public Schools.

All public school students in Oswego County are being ordered to stay home. Onondaga County schools will be hitting the books until Friday. Officials in Madison County have stopped short of ordering schools closed.

West Genesee schools will close Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and will do a half-day Friday. Skaneateles, Fayetteville-Manlius, and Jordan-Elbridge are deciding not to return to school this week.

Onondaga and Oswego County officials expect to allow students to return the Week of April 14th. Officials say they will reevaluate around that time to determine whether it is safe to go back to school.
