Special Election Announced To Fill 50th State Senate District Seat

Albany, N.Y. - Governor Cuomo has announced when voters will be heading to the polls to fill the seat left open by former State Senator Bob Antonacci.

A special election will be held on Tuesday, April 28th which is the same day as New York's presidential primary. The 50th District, which covers part of Onondaga and Cayuga counties, has been without representation since Antonacci stepped down to take a position with the state Supreme Court.

John Mannion, who lost to Antonacci in 2018, is the Democratic candidate while Republicans are still deciding who will represent their party.
