Ryan McMahon Gives State Of The County Address

Syracuse, N.Y. - Onondaga County Executive Ryan McMahon has laid out his agenda for 2020.

During his State of the County address yesterday, McMahon said he'll focus on several issues including economic development.

McMahon says he's looking into creating a new multi-sports complex which he believes could boost occupancy rates at hotels. The county is also working to take control of 40 acres near Onondaga Lake that would be used for parkland.

In education, He also asked county lawmakers to support a deal with the city that will see a renovated Central Tech building in the city as the home of a STEAM School for kids throughout the county:

The County Executive also proposed a deal with the city to use Carnegie Library building to house the combined planning, economic development and business development teams of city and county government.

The distribution center in Clay is also moving forward, but the name of the company who will be using it hasn't been revealed.
