Oil Prices Fall Again As Pump Prices Plummet In CNY

Oil prices are down again as markets worry that the coronavirus outbreak in China will hurt demand in the world's biggest oil importer.

The lower prices are having an impact in Central New York. AAA reports the average cost for a gallon of regular gas is $2.54. That's down five cents from last week and is a dime cheaper than this time a month ago.

The state average is $2.66, while nationally it's $2.47.

International benchmark Brent crude is down 37 cents a barrel, to 56-25 and West Texas Intermediate crude is off three cents, to 51-53 a barrel.

Brent and WTI fell for the fourth straight week last week, after a number of airlines canceled flights to China.
