Syracuse Police Make An Arrest In Syracuse's First Homicide Of The Year

Syracuse, N.Y. - A 15 year old Syracuse boy had been charged with committing Syracuse's first homicide of the year.

18 year old Ezequiel Ruiz, a former high school football player was shot twice -- once in the back of the head and once in the front of the head according to authorities. 15-year-old Benjamin Kemp hsa been arrested and accused of the shooting. He’s accused of shooting to death Ruiz, in a parking lot near West Park Apartments on S. Salina St. Tuesday night.

No word on what the suspect was looking for or how they cauight the 15 year old boy.

The murder case will now go to grand jury. The suspect is being held in Hillbrook Detention Center.
