Washington D.C. - North Country Representative Elise Stefanik is among eight House members who will serve on President Donald Trump’s impeachment defense team.
In a tweet, Stefanik says that she is honored to be named Member of the President’s Impeachment Defense Team. She want on to say that she is also proud to stand up for the Constitution, her constituents, and the American people’s vote.
Stefanik has been on the President's radar since he visited her district, and Fort Drum, in 2017. Trump declared Stefanik a GOP rising star in November after her blistering rebuke of the impeachment hearings in the House Intelligence Committee.
The White House has not said what her role, or the role of the other seven Republicans will be.
