Albany, N.Y. - Governor Andrew Cuomo has announced $45 million has been awarded to 57 counties and New York City to enhance emergency communications across the state.
Onondaga County will receive a little over 1 and a quarter million dollar of those funds. Oneida and Oswego counties will recieve a little over 839 thousand dollars each and Madison county just over 755 thousand dollars.
Eligible counties can use this funding for a variety of things from expanding radio coverage with new equipment and antenna sites to implementing Next Generation 9-1-1 technologies to deploying new technologies that help counties link their systems together.
